Legal basis for the processing of your personal data:

The providing and processing of your personal data is necessary for the fulfillment of the contract you have concluded with DPP, to which you are a contracting party (assumed with the conclusion of the transport contract). The following form the legal basis for the processing of your personal data: Contractual Transport Conditions of Prague Integrated Transport (PID), General Business Terms and Conditions of the Prague Public Transit Company (DPP), and on the basis of the fulfillment of these general legal obligations (especially: Decree No. 175/2000 Coll., on the Transport Regulations for Public Rail and Road Passenger Transport; Act No. 370/2017 Coll. on Payment Systems; and Act No. 235/2004 Coll. on value-added tax, etc.).

The legal basis for the processing in this case is:

  • keyword (title): contract,
  • keyword (title): law.

Personal Data Processed

First and last name, date of birth.

Your personal data is being processed in order to do the following:

  • issue a Prague Integrated Transport (PID) card (ticket) based on the related fare (tariff) category,
  • apply any applicable benefits and discounts,
  • confirm your personal identification,
  • issuance of a duplicate ticket,
  • obtain verification of a ticket’s validity,
  • fulfill related legal obligations,
  • provide the basis for a proper means of communication between the parties.

Recipients or categories of recipients of Personal Data

Personal data may be passed on to third parties (recipients) as required and only for the purposes referenced above. In most cases, this would be a contracted seller of paper tickets (coupons). With respect to the transferring of your personal data to state administration bodies, this is only done on the basis of a specific legal obligation.

For how long will the company be storing my personal data and what is the criteria being used to determine this period?

Your personal data is generally processed for the time necessary to fulfill the purposes of the processing. The Prague Public Transit Company (DPP) will delete personal data as soon as practical after the purposes for which the personal data was processed cease to exist.

We process your personal data for the period of time, which is determined to be necessary on the basis of the following criteria:

  • During the period of the contract: We process your personal data for the period of our mutual contractual relationship (i.e. for the period during which you are making use of the transport or other services of the Prague Public Transit Company (DPP).
  • Upon termination of the contract: Upon termination of the contract, we retain your personal data until the expiration of the period of time during which you, or the company, can assert claims against the other party on the basis of the terminated contract; or, as otherwise required under the law.
  • Litigation and other proceedings: Should the processing of your personal data be relevant to any proceedings in which the Prague Public Transit Company (DPP) is a party (or intervener), we will retain your personal data for the entire duration of these proceedings and for any related subsequent and ancillary proceedings.

We store your personal data for the period of validity of the ticket (coupon) and for an additional 10 year period after the end of the tax period in which the performance took place, pursuant to the provisions of Section 35, Paragraph 2 of Act No. 235/2004 Coll. on value-added tax.

Processing Method

At the purchase location (counter), personal data is entered into the electronic data system of the Prague Public Transit Company (DPP) and such information is only  processed electronically. Personal data is not made available to anyone except the recipients noted above.
