Prague City Council approved the Prague Public Transit Company’s project for long-term testing of a hydrogen-powered bus. The Prague Public Transit Company expects to start testing in the second half of this year, it will take 24 months and the hydrogen-powered bus is planned to be deployed on line no. 170 (Pražská čtvrť – Jižní Město).
The main criteria for the selection of the line were the length of the line (40 km for one circuit), hilly profile (typical for a number of Prague bus lines), standard vehicle type (12 metres) and last but not least route near the first public hydrogen filling station being prepared in the area of the capital city of Prague, in K Barrandovu street.
The vehicle's home garage will be Kačerov, the filling of hydrogen will take place during some of the operating breaks by crossing from the final stop Pražská čtvrt.
The aim of long-term testing will be to check the operational and technical parameters of the vehicle in different seasons.
