Which door should you use with a pram when boarding a tram?

Every tram is different – and when travelling with a pram, you need to board each type through different doors. Let’s take a closer look at which doors to use for each tram type to make your journey as smooth as possible.

Five types of low-floor trams operate in Prague:

 Škoda 52T

The newest 52T is also the most comfortable for prams. You can board through three of the five doors – specifically the first, second, and fifth doors.

 Škoda 15T

The 15T tram allows boarding through the first or third doors.

 Škoda 14T

When boarding the 14T tram, also known as the Porsche, use the first or fourth doors.

 Tatra KT8D5.RN2P and T3R.PLF

Finally, there are the KT8D5 trams (nicknamed “ducks”) and the refurbished “bathtubs” T3R.PLF. When travelling with a pram, always board these trams through the middle doors.

The only tram type that is not low-floor is the Tatra T3R.P. If you need to board this tram, use the rear (third) door.

Remember that journey-planning apps always show whether a service is low-floor or not. If you are travelling with a pram, plan ahead to make your journey as comfortable as possible.
