Line 137 has been converted to trolleybus line 52 as of 21 September

From Monday, 21 September 2026, bus route 137 operating between Na Knížecí, Waltrovka and Jinonice has been converted into trolleybus route 52. The transition to zero-emission battery trolleybuses is part of the project to electrify bus routes on the left bank of the Vltava River. In addition to the electrification of route 137, the approved plan also includes routes 131 (Hradčanská – Bořislavka), 176 (Karlovo náměstí – Stadion Strahov) and 191 (Na Knížecí – Letiště).

Route 137 is one of the busiest bus routes in the Smíchov and Malvazinky area. Its alignment runs through hilly terrain and climbs gradients of up to 9% on its way to Malvazinky, making it an ideal route for the deployment of modern trolleybuses. Passengers will benefit from quieter and more comfortable travel, while emissions and traffic noise along the route will be reduced.

 Shorter intervals and every second service extended to Jinonice

Trolleybus route 52 is operated by modern air-conditioned Bozankaya SNG 12T and SOR TNS 12 vehicles. On weekdays during peak periods, services run every 4 minutes between Na Knížecí and U Waltrovky, and every 8 minutes between Na Knížecí, Waltrovka and Jinonice.
