Dvorecký bridge officially opened

On Friday, 17 April 2026, the ceremonial opening of the Dvorecký Bridge took place — a new and important transport infrastructure project for the City of Prague. In this context, permanent changes to traffic were also introduced from Saturday, 18 April 2026.

About the Dvorecký Bridge

The Dvorecký Bridge is a new key transport structure connecting Prague 4 – Podolí and Prague 5 – Smíchov. The bridge is designated for public transport trams and buses, vehicles of the Integrated Rescue System, pedestrians and cyclists, and significantly contributes to improving transport services in the southern part of the city. At the same time, it strengthens connections to the backbone tram network and helps develop public spaces on both banks of the Vltava River.

  • length of the double-track tram line: 433.7 m

  • lighting: 24 lighting masts and LED strips integrated into the handrails
  • construction period: 2022–2026
  • transport use: trams, public transport buses, Integrated Rescue System vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists
