Test drives of the Bozankaya SNG 12T trolleybus

On Monday, 30 June 2025, the DPP began the homologation process for the operation of the Bozankaya SNG 12T trolleybus with electrical equipment from the Medcom company in the Czech Republic according to the conditions stipulated by the Railway Authority. The vehicle first drove shortly after noon on route of line no. 58 from Letňany to Čakovice.

Starting from Wednesday, 2 July 2025, the trolleybus will be in non-stop operation, without passengers it will run kilometres as part of the homologation process on the route Palmovka – Trutnovská. It must drive 10 thousand kilometres in total.

The Bozankaya SNG 12T trolleybuses are intended to ensure operation on the planned trolleybus lines no. 52 Na Knížecí – U Waltrovky (currently bus line no. 137), no. 51 Hradčanská – Bořislavka (currently bus line no. 131) and no. 53 Karlovo náměstí – Stadion Strahov (currently bus line no. 176). The DPP is already implementing the construction of the infrastructure for the abovementioned electrification projects.

At the beginning of 2025, the DPP signed a framework agreement with the company Bozankaya Otomotiv Makina Imalat Ithalat ve Ihracat A.Ş., which will allow it to purchase up to 70 vehicles of this type over the next five years. It has ordered 30 so far and their home garage will be Řepy.
