Expansion of boarding through all doors on PID suburban lines

24. 06. 2025

Starting from 1 August 2025, boarding will be possible through all doors on almost a hundred PID suburban bus lines. The change is intended to speed up passenger check-in and follows a successful trial operation. At the same time, surcharges for travelling without a valid travel document are increasing.

The new feature will bring passengers faster and more convenient boarding without the need to stand in line at the front door, which will result in smoother operation and shorter waiting times, especially at busy stops.

If a passenger already has a valid ticket – whether paper one or one in the PID Lítačka mobile application – they can board through any door from 1 August 2025.

It is still possible to buy a ticket from the driver – in cash or by card, but in this case it is necessary to board through the front door.

The change will affect the following lines:

Daytime suburban lines: 300–429 (except lines 305, 315, 345, 389, 392, 393, 395, 400–407, 410, 412, 413, 415–417, 420–428)
Current regional lines: 481, 484, 519, 705, 785, 801, 805, 823, 858
Night lines: 951–961

How do you know that you can board through all doors?
  • The information will be shown in timetables at stops, in connection search engines, as well as in the PID Lítačka mobile application.
  • You will find a visible information sign at the front of the bus.
What needs to be observed?
  • When boarding through a door other than the front door, you must have a pre-purchased ticket and validate it immediately after boarding the vehicle. When using a ticket from the mobile application, you can board the vehicle with an already valid travel document after its protection period has expired.
  • Without a ticket, board through the front door – you can still purchase a ticket from the driver.
  • On selected lines, increased control activities by transport inspectors are expected, who will verify the validity of tickets and ensure the smooth operation of the system.

Increase of penalties for travelling without a valid ticket in the Central Bohemian Region

Starting from 1 August 2025, surcharges for traveling without a valid ticket will increase significantly in the Central Bohemian Region: CZK 1,500 on the spot, CZK 2,000 within 15 days by transfer to an account or at the additional payment counter, or CZK 2,500 after this period has expired. In the territory of Prague, for the time being these surcharges remain unchanged.
