Petřín Funicular Resumes Operation After Two Years

Prague, 22 September 2026 – The Petřín Funicular is celebrating its 135th anniversary this year and, after 24 months, is returning to trial operation with passengers on a completely reconstructed and stabilised track and with new unattended fourth-generation designer cars. The first passengers departed from Újezd and Petřín this morning at 7:00. Nearly 400 passengers used the Petřín Funicular during the first hour of operation, and by 16:00 the number had already reached 6,210. The Petřín Funicular will operate daily from 7:00 to 22:15. It now stops at Nebozízek only in the direction from Újezd to Petřín.
