Tunnelling Begins on the Next Section of Metro Line D at Nové Dvory in Prague

Prague, 18 September 2026 – Almost exactly three months after the start of construction of the next section of Metro Line D from Ryšánka Station (formerly Olbrachtova) to Nové Dvory, contractors from HOCHTIEF CZ have begun the tunnelling works themselves. The access and ventilation tunnel for the future Nové Dvory metro station will be the first to be excavated.

The section of Metro Line D from Ryšánka (Olbrachtova) Station to Nové Dvory is being built by a Czech-German consortium consisting of Subterra, HOCHTIEF CZ, HOCHTIEF Infrastructure and BeMo Tunneling.

At the same time, construction has begun on the future logistics facilities and a production hall for tunnel boring machine segments. The contract for the manufacture and delivery of the tunnel boring machines has already been signed, both machines are currently in production and are expected to arrive at the construction site in mid-2027.
