19. 06. 2026

Prague, 19 June 2026 – At the ND1 construction site near the intersection of Libušská and Kunratická Streets in Prague 4, Prague Public Transit Company (DPP) today ceremonially commenced the construction of the next section of Metro Line D from Olbrachtova Station to Nové Dvory. Initial construction works effectively began this week with the excavation of the access tunnel portal for the future Nové Dvory Station. The first tunnelling works on this section are also scheduled to begin here in the second half of August this year

As part of this investment project, contractors will excavate running tunnels from Písnice to Olbrachtova Station and construct three additional stations with the working names Nádraží Krč, Nemocnice Krč and Nové Dvory. They will also install all technologies, including the transport and control system, throughout the shortest operable section of Metro Line D between Pankrác and Nové Dvory.

Construction will last 72 months and will be carried out across a total of 13 construction sites using tunnel boring machines (TBMs) and the New Austrian Tunnelling Method (NATM). The Olbrachtova–Nové Dvory section of Metro Line D will be built by the Czech-German consortium consisting of Subterra, HOCHTIEF CZ, HOCHTIEF Infrastructure and BeMo Tunneling for CZK 29.99 billion excluding VAT. Following completion of the works, DPP expects Metro Line D to enter service between Pankrác and Nové Dvory in the second half of 2032.
