Prague, April 7, 2026 – Prague Public Transit Company (DPP) has signed a contract with the the winner of the public tender for the construction of the next section of Metro Line D (I.D1b) Olbrachtova (exclusive) – Nové Dvory, which connects to the first section currently under construction, Pankrác D – Olbrachtova. The contract signing was enabled by the decision of the Chairman of the Office for the Protection of Competition, who dismissed the appeal filed by the consortium led by STRABAG, as well as by the February ruling of the Supreme Administrative Court, which cancelled the preliminary injunction prohibiting the conclusion of the contract with the tender winner. The next section of Metro Line D (I.D1b), Olbrachtova (exclusive) – Nové Dvory, will be built by a consortium of Subterra a.s., HOCHTIEF CZ a.s., HOCHTIEF Infrastructure GmbH, and BeMo Tunneling GmbH, which submitted a bid of CZK 29.99 billion excluding VAT in the public tender. Following the contract signing, DPP issued a notice to the contractor to commence construction works. DPP expects construction of the next section of Metro Line D to begin within the coming weeks.
