Area of Malá Strana: Temporary suspension of tram operation

Track repair

Because of tram track repair, starting on Sunday, 13 Sep. 2020 (approximately from 4:30 a.m.) and ending on Saturday, 19 Sep. 2020 (approximately to 0:30 a.m.), there is no tram service in the area of Malá Strana. The suspension is divided into two stages.

Stage I

Starting on Sunday, 13 September 2020 (approximately from 4:30 a.m.) and ending on Thursday, 17 September 2020 (approximately to 0:30 a.m.), there is no tram service in the section Újezd – Malostranská – Staroměstská.

Route changes of tram lines

• Trams 2 and 18 are, between Staroměstská and Malostranská (at Edvard Beneš Embankment), diverted via the Právnická fakulta stop.
• Tram 12 is, in the direction from Výstaviště Holešovice, from the Sparta stop, diverted via the stops Hradčanská, Vozovna Střešovice, Hládkov and Malovanka to the Vypich stop.
• Tram 15 is, in the direction from Olšanské hřbitovy, from the Malostranská stop (at Edvard Beneš Embankment), diverted via the stops Královský letohrádek, Pražský hrad, Pohořelec, Malovanka and Vypich to the Bílá Hora stop.
• Tram 20 is, in the direction from Divoká Šárka, from the Hradčanská stop, diverted to the Špejchar turning loop.
• Tram 22 is, in the direction from Čechovo náměstí, from the Újezd stop, diverted via the Anděl stop to the Smíchovské nádraží stop.
• Historic tram 41 and tram 97 are, between Národní divadlo and Malostranská (at Edvard Beneš Embankment), diverted via the stops Staroměstská and Právnická fakulta.

Changes to tram stops

The Malostranská stops at Edvard Beneš Embankment are established.

Replacement bus service

Replacement bus X22 is established in daytime operation on the route Újezd – Malostranské náměstí – Újezd – Švandovo divadlo.

Stops:

• Újezd – boarding stop: in Újezd street, near the tram stop
• Hellichova: in Újezd street, at the tram stop
• Malostranské náměstí: at Malostranské náměstí, near the stop of bus 194
• Malostranské náměstí: in Karmelitská street, approximately 40 metres behind the intersection with Malostranské náměstí
• Hellichova: in Karmelitská street, at the tram stop
• Újezd: in Újezd street, at the tram stop
• Švandovo divadlo – terminal stop: at Kinských Square, near the stop of bus 176

Changes in bus operation

Bus 194 is divided into two parts. It is operated between Florenc and Staroměstská, and between Malostranské náměstí and Nemocnice pod Petřínem.

 

 

Stage II

Starting on Thursday, 17 September 2020 (approximately from 0:30 a.m.) and ending on Saturday, 19 September 2020 (approximately to 0:30 a.m.), there is no service at the Malostranská tram stops near the metro station.

Route changes of tram lines

• For trams 2, 12, 15, 18 and 20, the measures are identical to the previous stage.
• Tram 22 is, in the direction from Čechovo náměstí, from Národní divadlo, operated on the route Staroměstská – Malostranská (in Letenská street) – Malostranské náměstí – Hellichova – Újezd – Anděl – Smíchovské nádraží.
• Tram 97 bypasses the suspended section of the Malostranská stops at the metro via the Právnická fakulta stop. In the area of Malostranská, it stops at the stops in Letenská street and at Edvard Beneš Embankment.

Changes to tram stops

• The Malostranská stops at Edvard Beneš Embankment are still in operation.
• Moreover, the Malostranská stops are established in Letenská street.

Replacement bus service

No replacement bus service is provided.
