Permanent changes to selected PIT tram lines from 1 September 2012

From the start of service on Saturday, 1 September 2012, some Prague Integrated Transit tram lines will undergo optimization.

Trams – changes to individual lines

  • Line number 1 is in service with no changes (in the stretch Petřiny – Spojovací).
  • Line number 2 is in service with no changes (in the stretch Petřiny – Podbaba).
  • Line number 3 in the direction from the centre is diverted at the Bílá labuť stop via Florenc, Invalidovna, Palmovka and Bulovka to the Kobylisy stop, in the stretch Kobylisy – Nádraží Braník new connections are being inserted seven days a week (new backbone line); in the stretch Vltavská – Lehovec the line is being replaced by line number 25.
  • Line number 4 in the direction from the centre is diverted at Anděl to Kotlářka, is extended from Čechovo náměstí to Kubánské náměstí, and in the stretch Sídliště Barrandov – Anděl is being replaced by line number 6.
  • Line number 5 in the direction from the centre is diverted at Strossmayerovo náměstí along the route for line number 26 via Hradčanská and Dejvická to Divoká Šárka (in the stretch Špejchar – Divoká Šárka it will run only during workday peak times), is extended from Olšanské hřbitovy via Želivského to Černokostelecká and in the area of Holešovice replaced by lines 14 and 24. It will now run as a double-car double-car tram.
  • Line number 6 in the direction from the centre is diverted at Karlovo náměstí via Albertov and Náměstí Bratří Synků to Spořilov; from Anděl it is diverted via Smíchovské nádraží to Sídliště Barrandov (in the stretch Smíchovské nádraží – Sídliště Barrandov it will run only on workday mornings) and in the stretch Anděl – Kotlářka the line is being replaced by line number 4.
  • In the stretch Černokostelecká – Ústřední dílny DP on weekends and evenings, line number 7 will run for only every other connection.
  • Line number 8 in the stretch Dlouhá třída – Hradčanská is being diverted via Malostranská (on Letná it is replaced by line number 5), on weekends only single-car trams will run.
  • Line number 9 is in service with no changes (in the stretch Sídliště Řepy – Spojovací) as a backbone line.
  • Line number 10 is in service with no changes (in the stretch Sídliště Řepy – Sídliště Ďáblice).
  • Line number 11 is being shortened by the stretch Olšanské hřbitovy – Černokostelecká (replaced by line number 5), in the stretch Olšanské hřbitovy – Náměstí Bratří Synků on workdays approximately from 06:00 to 19:00 connections are being inserted (now in operation as a backbone line).
  • Line number 12 in the stretch Malostranská – Strossmayerovo náměstí is diverted via Letenské náměstí.
  • Line number 14 in the direction from the centre is diverted at the Masarykovo nádraží  stop via Bílá labuť, Vltavská, Dělnická to Ortenovo náměstí (from where it continues as line number 24 to the centre); on weekends intervals are cut in half and single-car trams will run; in the stretch Strossmayerovo náměstí – Vozovna Kobylisy the line is being replaced by line number 17.
  • Line number 15 is cancelled and in the stretch Špejchar – Nádraží Vysočany replaced by lines 12 and 16.
  • Line number 16 in the direction from the centre is diverted at the Biskupcova stop via Palmovka and Nádraží Vysočany to Lehovec.
  • Line number 17 in the direction from the centre is diverted at the Kobylisy stop to Vozovna Kobylisy, at peak workday times all connections will now run along the entire route. It will serve as a backbone line.
  • Line number 18 is in service with no changes (in the stretch Petřiny – Vozovna Pankrác).
  • Line number 19 is cancelled and in the stretch Kubánské náměstí – Lehovec replaced by lines 16 and 26.
  • Line number 20 is in service with no changes (in the stretch Divoká Šárka – Sídliště Barrandov).
  • Line number 21 is cancelled and in the stretch Nádraží Braník – Národní třída – Nádraží Braník replaced by line number 3.
  • Line number 22 is in service with no changes (in the stretch Bílá Hora – Nádraží Hostivař) as a backbone line.
  • Line number 24 in the direction from the centre is diverted at Masarykovo nádraží via Náměstí Republiky, Strossmayerovo náměstí and Nádraží Holešovice to Ortenovo náměstí (from where it continues as line number 14 to the centre). On weekends the interval is being cut in half and single-car trams will run; in the stretch Masarykovo nádraží – Kobylisy the line is being replaced by line number 3.
  • Line number 25 in the direction from the centre is diverted at Palmovka via Nádraží Libeň to Lehovec; in the stretch Palmovka – Kobylisy the line is being replaced by line number 3.
  • Line number 26 is in service with no changes (in the stretch Divoká Šárka – Nádraží Hostivař).
  • Line number 36 is cancelled and in the stretch Divoká Šárka – Špejchar replaced by line number 5.
