Museum Night 2008

It has already been five years that the Prague Public Transit Co. has been participating as the official carrier for passenger transport for Prague Museum Night, which this year will take place on the night of 14th to 15th June 2008.

Based on past years, which exhibited significant year-over-year growth in the number of visitors, this year up to 190,000 entries to individual locations are expected, which means the participation of up to around 85,000 visitors.

This time around, the Prague Public Transit Co. is providing transport between individual institutions with 9 special bus lines. As in previous years, these buses will once again depart from Staroměstská station; a novelty is Line 9, connecting the Černý Most metro station with the stop Chvalovská tvrz.

The Public Transit Museum at Střešovice Depot will not be open during the day on Saturday, 14 June 2008, and will open its doors to visitors at 7:00 p.m.

List of Special Lines

• Line 1 on the route Staroměstská – Trocnovská – Staroměstská, interval 7–8 min. (from 12:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. interval 10 min.),
• Line 2 on the route Staroměstská – Trója – Staroměstská, interval 7–8 min. (from 12:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. interval 10 min.),
• Line 3 on the route Staroměstská – Karlov – Vyšehrad – Staroměstská, interval 4 min. (from 12:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. interval 5 min.),
• Line 4 on the route Staroměstská – Hradčanské náměstí – Staroměstská, interval 4 min. (from 12:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. interval 5 min.),
• Line 5 on the route Staroměstská – Malostranské náměstí – Staroměstská, interval 10 min.,
• Line 6 on the route Staroměstská – Zbraslavské náměstí – Staroměstská, interval 15 min., last bus leaves at 11:45 a.m.,
• Line 7 on the route Staroměstská – Letecké muzeum Kbely – Staroměstská, interval 15 min., last bus leaves at 12:45 a.m.,
• Line 8 on the route Staroměstská – Zemědělské muzeum – Kaštan – Staroměstská, interval 25 min., last bus leaves at 12:50 a.m.,
• Line 9 on the route Černý Most – Chvalská tvrz – Černý Most, interval 20 min. (does not run from 9:10 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.).

The first connections of these special lines will depart from the Staroměstská stop at 6:30 p.m., Line 9 from Černý Most at 6:50 p.m. The last connections for lines 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 from Staroměstská and Line 9 from Černy Most will depart at 1:00 a.m. The last connection for Line 6 will depart at 11:45 p.m., for Line 7 at 12:45 a.m., and for Line 8 at 12:50 a.m.

Transport on all these lines will as always be free of charge.

Other Changes in Public Transit Operation

Operation of all three metro lines will be extended to 1:30 a.m. P+R parking lots will be open until 2:00 a.m. Connecting surface transit connections are not provided for special lines.

Due to the opening of the Maze of Mirrors on Petřín, operation of the Petřín Hill funicular will be extended until 1:15 a.m.

Line 17, in the stretch Čechův most – Staroměstská, will be diverted via the Malostranská stop from 6:15 p.m. until the end of daytime service.
