Two New Historic Tram Lines – Numbers 42 and 43 – to Open This Summer

From 1 July 2021, two new historical lines - Numbers 42 and 43 - will appear in Prague. They will provide riders with connections between the most popular tourist locations in the city center and they will be hop-on and hop-off with unlimited travel, all for the one day fare of CZK 200.

Timetables for Tram Lines 42 and 43

Line number 42 will be in operation daily except Monday, with the second line number 43 running on weekends and public holidays. DPP will be offering riders a chance to ride on some 10 historic cars, which will date from as early as1908 and as late as 1962.

Both historic tram lines will be in operation from 1 July 2021 and both will have semi-circular routes.

Note: passengers will only be able to purchase the special ticket for both lines from a DPP conductor after boarding the tram. It will be possible to pay for tickets using cash as well as payment cards. After marking, the ticket will be valid for 24 hours - but only on lines 42 and 43. These tickets cannot be used on other regular means of public transportation. And, similarly, the standard PID tariff will not apply for travel on historic lines 42 and 43.

Tram lines No. 42 and 43

Line 42: Dlabačov – Pohořelec – Brusnice – Pražský hrad – Královský letohrádek – Malostranská – Právnická fakulta – Čechův most – Dlouhá třída – Náměstí Republiky – Masarykovo nádraží – Jindřišská – Václavské náměstí – Vodičkova – Lazarská – Národní třída – Národní divadlo – Újezd – Helichova – Malostranské náměstí – Malostranská – Královský letohrádek – Pražský hrad – Brusnice – Pohořelec – Dlabačov.

Trams will depart from the Dlabačov stop daily except Monday at half-hour intervals from 10 am to 5.30 pm. Total travel time: approximately 46 minutes.

Line 43: Vozovna Střešovice – Brusnice – Pražský hrad – Královský letohrádek – Sparta – Letenské náměstí – Kamenická – Strossmayerovo náměstí – Veletržní palác – Výstaviště Holešovice – Planetárium Praha – Výstaviště Holešovice – Veletržní palác – Strossmayerovo náměstí – Nábřeží Kapitána Jaroše – Čechův most – Malostranská – Královský letohrádek – Pražský hrad – Brusnice – Vozovna Střešovice.

Trams will depart from Vozovna Střešovice (Střešovice Depot) on weekends and public holidays at hourly intervals from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Total travel time: approximately 38 minutes.
